RISING FILM EVAPORATOR
Rising film evaporators are an efficient and effective method for recovering solvents such as ethanol from cannabis extracts. The rising film evaporator works by heating the solvent to a high temperature, causing it to vaporize and rise through a heated tube.
As the vapor rises, it condenses on the tube walls, forming a thin film that continues to rise until it reaches the top of the tube. The condensed solvent is then collected in a separate vessel, while the remaining plant material is left behind.
This process is highly efficient, as it allows for the recovery of up to 99% of the solvent used in the extraction process. Rising film evaporators operate at low pressure, reducing the risk of thermal degradation of heat-sensitive compounds in the extract.
